Good Morning, and welcome everyone to another service of the Church of Sunday Tea. This is a very festive and busy time for the Parish, so the tea for today is Red Rose Tea, in very large amounts. The sermon will be on Toast and Jam. Reflect on your preserves today, everyone. Jelly or Jam? both have merits.

The Hymns for Today’s service:

Bringing in the Sheaves
Rolling Out the Crusts
Spreading Joy with Pie
Sage Thoughts

And now, the Parish announcements:

There will be two services at the church today. The early toast service will be at 11:00 am. Please be prompt. The late pork chop service will be held at 6:00 pm. Attendees are asked to please donate rolls. For the upcoming Holiday the Services are as Follows:

Thanksgiving Eve Tea Service 6:00 PM
Thanksgiving Day Last Flight Sunrise Service 6:00 AM.
Thanksgiving Day Morning Parade Service 9:00 AM
Thanksgiving Day High Service NOON
Thanksgiving Day Pie Service 5:00 PM
Thanksgiving Day Mint Service 6:00 PM
Black Friday Mission Service…Ruby Tuesday’s 11:00 AM
Black Friday Evening Service 6:00 PM

The Pie Crust Committee meets this afternoon in the parish kitchen. Please bring an apron and your own pie plates. The yarn appreciation Society will be meeting later this week, hooks and yarn will be provided. Anyone with donations for any of the Holiday services are kindly asked to hold them until the day of the service due to lack of space in the parish refrigerator. Any questions should be directed to the rectory. With the continued good weather, a polite reminder to our parishoners…it is NOT a sin to put your Christmas lights up. It IS a sin to turn them on before DECEMBER first. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

It is the season to be thankful for all our freinds and family, and for the tea we share when we can be together. One lump or two?

There is Kindness in the Jam-Jar

There is kindness in the jam-jar
as you spread the jelly, share
nice warm crumpets from the toaster

Tea and crumpets make us happy
when we share them with our friends

Spreading jam on scones or crumpets

So bake your crumpets and your sweet scones
call a friend to share with you
all the sweetness of the jam jar
when you ask one lump or two

And now for the Parish announcements:

The usual evening supper service at the church will not be held, due to an outing of the Yarn Appreciation Society. Instead, there will be a sunrise tea service AND and afternoon tea service. Those attending the afternoon service are asked to be prompt, due to the Yarn members travel arrangements. Socks still need homes. We understand that these are hard times, but nothing softens hard times like soft socks. Please visit www.sockdollies.com and open your home to one of these orphans soon. The piecrust meeting is tentatively scheduled for next Sunday. If there is enough interest, this will be the official date of the meeting. Please contact the rectory. Also, volunteers are needed to do advanced prep for the annual Christmas Cookie event. Contact Peapod Directly if you wish to be involved. Also note. It is still fruitcake weather. All parishioners are encouraged to read the sacred text “A Christmas Memory” by Truman Capote. Finally, anyone wishing to mush kittens this week should call at the parish for details.

Today, meditate on sugar cubes…something ordinary turned into something special. One lump or two? Ask that every day

The Pastor would like to thank all who made the Hallowe’en Tea a success…your attendence was much appreciated. Hallowe’een *is* a day of holy obligation for those adhering to the tenets of the Church, those who missed the evening service may call the rectory for pennance. There are still doughnuts and cider available, those wishing to partake should call at the church at six. Anyone on the Church decoration committee should report to help put Jack O’Lanterns into storage, and to prepare the Thanksgiving displays. We will be accepting *all* turkey donations, but twenty pounds and over are prefered. There will be a meeting of the Pie Crust society soon…watch this space for a date. Socks still need homes. PLEASE visit www.sockdollies.com and do what you can.

This Sunday is a good Sunday to go out for Indian food and drink chai. Be sure to do both with someone and stir up something nice

ok. she is a geek. she admits this. Mr pea is a geek too, and he admits it. What happens when two geeks settle down for a cozy evening of television? We watch documentaries about space. What happens when we watch documentaries about space? We start thinking of things…like…

If the moon was created by a planet crashing into the earth, mark 1, the debris would have formed a ring system around earth. Of course, we have to say how effing cool would that be?

But then we worry…if we have a ring system, rather than a satelite, would we get enough gravitational pull to knead the earth’s core and keep us tectonically active to have an atmosphere? would there be tides?

Then we have to think about saturn…it’s rings don’t do much…but…Saturn’s rngs are made of *ice* and our ring system would have been nickel and iron…much more dense…

Mr pea decided to go to bed at this point.

pea thinks we need help…

If you don’t agree, she will be forced to tell you about the radio-wave energy driven solar sytem we came up with on an anniversary trip.

Greetings! Welcome to this week’s service of the Church of Sunday Tea. This week we have a guest preacher, Jen, who brings us the divine word of Oh My Chai Tea. Please pay very close attention to what Jen has to say.

The Hymns for today:
Beer is the Leaven
Stop and Dip Your Bread With Me
Share the Chai
Mixing Binds Us Together
Don’t Forget to Come

Here are this week’s Parish Announcements:

Remember, that due to the guest preacher, our usual service will be at ONE THIRTY in the afternoon. No donations are required to attend. Please note that due to a larger than anticipated volume of visitors to the Church for this service, you may wish to consider alternate parking in the lot on Indian church road, near Seneca. Parking there will avoid any troublesome car moving at four o’clock due to the city parking change. Also due to the change in service schedule, there will be no supper services at the rectory today. Memebers of the Yarn Appreciation Society may bring their supplies, but the beginning of yarn activities may be delayed. Yarn will be provided for any new members. As always, homes are needed for orphan socks. Some of the orphans will be at the service today, if you would like to meet them. The adoption fee is small, and the joy great. Consider adopting a homeless sock today. www.sockdollies.com

Blessings to you all. Wrap your hands around your steaming mug of chai and be happy

As some of you know, this Sunday was a mission Sunday, and there was no service at the Church. Services were held at Shanghai Red’s, and the theme of the service was a Mimosa Brunch. Blessings upon Wesley the Missionary preacher, and all were well nourished spiritually. All who attended are asked to meditate on the sin of Gluttony.

The Hymns for this week are as follows:
Love in Laundry (When Done Together)
Sharing Around the Table
Home is Where the Bacon Is
Chocolate Cake is Holy
Stay and Sip With Me

And now the Parish Announcements

Because this was a Mission Sunday, there will be no supper at the rectory tonight. Instead, the Yarn Appreciation Society, and the Kitten Petting Group will be meeting early. Socks still need homes. Please, brothers and sisters, if you can’t give a home to an orphan sock yourself, tell your friends and nieghbors and implore them to help. A homeless sock is a sad thing. The holidays are coming. Help a sock go home for Christmas. Visit www.sockdollies.com . Don’t forget that next weeks Service will be featuring a guest minister, from the Church of Tastefully Simple. Please be sure to attend this interdenominational event, and bring a friend. Refreshments will be served.

Go now and brew in peace for the ones you love. The week isn’t complete unless one makes the choice between one lump or two

And now a few parish announcements: Those wishing to attend the Chicken Supper should contact the Rectory before 5pm today. Donations of wine and bread are always welcome. As always, do what you can to support the orphaned socks… www.sockdollies.com . The Church Library Ceiling repair is moving along, thanks to all who donated time to the ongoing project. The yarn appreciation society will be meeting later this evening, all are welcome to attend, and yarn will be provided.

Blessings to all, and don’t forget to spread the word. One lump or Two? Be sure to ask a friend that question soon. Happy brewing.

Pea has spent saturday making her own catering arrangements for the rest of the week, when she will be tired, and not in any frame of mind to be cooking. To further a sluggish week, she has been busy busy busy now, assembling a very peasanty collation to tide her over til *next* weekend

That much kitchen activity puts Peapod’s mom on the sofa with a migraine

On Friday, she made a nice big roast beef…with mushroom and red wine gravy, mashed taters and corn. There is plenty of beef left for a new incarnation with some novel sides. Today, she made some seriously melty tender pork chops, and really yummy gravy, and speatzle (extra crispy) and sweet ‘n’ sour cabbage and green beens….plenty for a rerun, maybe on teusday, grommit.

After dinner Mr. Pea tried an experiment…she wasn’t brave enough to try it…he poured maple syrup on some spaetzle, and proclaimed it a taste sensation…

Pea is dubious.

Tomorrow she plans to roast a big fat hen, with a duxelle, bacon, and chedder stuffing. Sides are as yet to be determined…but that will be a very spiffy Sunday dinner, and will make even better bone-pickin’s later in the week.

In the middle of all that, she put up six jars of tomatoes, made a nice big field-green salad, and decanted the raspberry vinegar she had been infusing for the last few days.

Dontcha all wish you were noshing at Pea’s pod?
